buenas noticias, el disco de Annie recibio tres estrellas y media de la revista edicion USA ROLLING STONE, es genial! les dejo aca el articulo y el link para bajar de PDF, el album es realmente genial para mi se merece esas 4 estrellas, tuve la posibilidad de escucharlo y es genial! no me canso de repetirlo, ya voy a ponerme a hacer una critica de tema por tema, porque realmente me parece un album ExtraORDINARIO!! no lo voy a subir completo jamas, ya que no apoyo totalmente a la bajada ilegal, menos de Annie, este album estoy seguro q si lo compran no se van a arrepentir!

The title is overstated, but Songs of Mass Destruction does layer welcome muscle beneath the porcelain-smooth surface of Annie Lennox's voice. The result is an album that captures the range of her styles, from the rhythmically charged pop of her Eurythmics days to the haunted, longing ballads of her solo career. If the two approaches don't always cohere, each is satisfying in its own right.
The album was produced by Glen Ballard, who is best known for his work with Alanis Morissette and the Dave Matthews Band. He roughens up Lennox's sound -- as on "Ghosts in My Machine," which rides an irresistible, staccato synth riff. "Womankind" is a self-esteem booster, while "Sing" gathers a coterie of female vocalists -- including Madonna, Dido and Joss Stone -- to raise awareness about mother-child HIV transmission in Africa. That the song doesn't collapse under its good intentions is a tribute to its sturdy pop craft -- a virtue in more than ample supply on this sparkling album.

Bueno este es el tema completo, Annie se da el lujo de cantar junto a las otras 23 artistas, muy espectacular, el tema tiene fuerza propia, tiene un intro diciendo sobre el tema (y origen de la cancion), para la fundacion TAC y un final de musica con los miembros la banda q hace musica africana, "The Generics" de la cual Annie se baso en este tema. Iconic artist Annie Lennox will begin a North American headlining tour on October 8th in San Diego, California in support of her new album, Songs Of Mass Destruction, set for release October 2nd on Arista Records.

The tour, 'Annie Lennox Sings' will continue through November 11th with only fifteen intimate performances in as many cities. Performing in smaller venues, this tour, the 3rd of her solo career, will give fans the opportunity to enjoy her new material and beloved classics in a special and extraordinarily rare environment. Annie's exquisite voice and mesmerizing stage presence will be illuminated in this once in a lifetime concert experience.

In the fifteen years since the release of her debut solo album, Diva, in 1992, Annie Lennox has built the most successful career of any British female artist in pop music history. She has sold over 78 million records worldwide, scored numerous Top Ten hits around the world, and earned four Grammy Awards. Annie co-wrote and performed "Into the West," from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, which won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song in 2004.

Annie Lennox's appearance with Sting on 2004's 'The Sacred Love Tour' drew packed houses and rave reviews all across North America. The Seattle Post Intelligencer declared, "Lennox's voice was spectacular," and the Chicago Tribune called her "one of the great blue-eyed soul singers."

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger - 25 years

ok gente tamos de aniversario, si Love Is A Stranger cumple este mes 25 años de vida escuchativa, cuando en septiembre de 1982 se largaba como corte de difusion, es genial poder haber tenido la posibilidad de haber vivido casi el trayecto de mi vida a cuestas de un tema, ja si yo tmbn cumplo 25 en un par de meses nomas, y siento q eh vivido mucho, si yo me siento asi, no se como seran los q han seguido / escuchado este tema desde que salio, realmente es para mi un tema muy bueno del excelente album post, debut, ya que era el segundo como eurythmics, y no el primero de D& A, SWEET DREAMS (ARE MADE OF THIS) un poco de historia no le hace mal a nadie



LOVE IS A STRANGER



Es el quinto sencillo, y como los anteriores no fue un exito comercial, aunque esto más tarde se hiciera reversible cuando sacaron el siguiente corte de difusion "Sweet Dreams"

Fue producido por David A. Stewart y Adán Williams y fue autofinanciado con 8 pistas por Eurythmics en la instalación de la Granja de Creta. (Chalk Farm)

La cancion un arreglo de ritmo y uso de tambores y sistemas de movimientos raros, con arreglos de sintetonizadores obvio, dando efectos a las melodias con efectos sonoros , incluso el Suzuki Omnichord, combinado con las armonías vocales multirastreadas estridentes de Lennox. La canción también es puntuada por gruñidos vocales sexuales (uh) de Stewart.

La difusion fue acompañada por un vídeo de música asombroso, en el cual Stewart actúa como el chófer para Lennox andrógino, que desempeña el papel de una prostituta de clase superior. Durante el curso del vídeo, Lennox se quita una peluca rubia rizada para revelar su marca registrada rapada alisado - pelo pelirrojo con gel a full, luego se ven imagenes de Ann con peluca negra y con cintas de video y fotos tiradas al lado de ella, como si las hubiera cortado ella, ya que aparece con una tijera, todo muy elocuente en un baño, con pelucas donde, interpretaria yo es el unico lugar donde esta sola para cambiarse para ir con otro cliente! jaja

Anecdotas dicen que cuando salio el video en USA, algunas personas equivocadamente pensaron que Annie era un hombre travestido.

El B-lado solo era "Mono,Mono" (Monkey Monkey en la edicion de 7") una pista electro que presenta una máquina de tambor escasa y arreglo de sintetizador ordenado, con la voz de Lennox y hasta haciendo voces de mono al final.

En la version vinilo de 12" incluia el tema "Cerremos los ojos" (Lets just close our eyes) , el remix de The Walk, anterior corte de difusion, el cual muestra una version elctro synth con voces de Annie tambien con voces de Dave y ambos haciendo por ahi comentarios, como si fuera uno hablando por telefono a la vez, confuso, pero muy entretenido a la vez.

El Single fue reeditado en 1991 para la publicacion de Greatest Hits.
